It's Ally here. Can't believe my last post is almost 2 years ago! Time flew. Life has definitely become crazy after the birth of LittleLim and I took a lot of time finding my feet again. Between sleepless nights and spending all my time loving my baby girl I didn't have much time for art. Along the way I lost my mojo. For a while I even contemplated shutting down the site and company. I just felt so unmotivated and uninspired until recently! A new iPad Pro & Apple Pencil was what the doctor ordered. I instantly felt a connection for my art again <3 It no longer felt like "work" and was fun again.

I won't be taking on any commissions / work at the moment as I am still finding my footing again. I will definitely work towards finding the perfect balance between illustrating and life. Not to mention that I am so rusty and need a lot of practice. When I'm ready, you'll definitely be the first to know :)

Just want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has kept this blog / Facebook page alive. I came back to 26k views, thousands of shares and 500+ emails (still sifting through but mostly spam I'm sure >.<) but a few awesome notes of encouragement was enough to make my day. Thank you. I dedicate my first piece back to you guys - the fans and supporters. THANK YOU!

Can't wait to get drawing again. We'll definitely talk soon.

Hello Stickies!

Sorry for the lack of updates! I know it's been a while and I apologise for all the delays and unannounced breaks that has been going on StickgirlProductions.

I had initially wanted to keep this under wraps for as long as I can but realised that it wasn't fair to you the customers and fans who are waiting on my updates- although if you have contacted me for a commission, I would have already informed you.

I apologise as I've taken a long unplanned secret break from drawing to focus on baking a bun.
A baby bun that is!
I'm pregnant! 18 weeks pregnant!
Finding Out - Pregnant!

I've been told to take things easy and rest because pregnancy has taken a toll on my energy levels and physical health.

I have been dealing with morning sickness, serious fatigue and muscle aches which has caused me to be unable to sit, focus and draw for long hours.
But particularly the muscle aches that causes the muscles in my back, arm and wrist to hurt.

But I'm slowly regaining my strength and energy back as my body adjusts to the new developments and changes! BabyLim is doing well and developing according to the dates!

We are really excited!

For further updates regarding StickgirlProductions and future commissions / projects, do check back here or visit the Facebook Page in the next few weeks!

Lots of Love,

Ally @ StickgirlProductions

To our Muslim friends,
Wishing you a Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri! May you have happiness, love and friendship always.

StickgirlProductions2014 : Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2014
This design is free for download. Feel free to download it (click here)! It's a perfect square so it's perfect for Whatsapp, Instagram, Facebook etc :)

Special thanks to Wei Theng for helping me make the Watermark look pretty :) I will be starting to watermark all my art because it has come to my attention of companies taking my art without permission or payment and putting them in advertisements, posters and etc. I think it's completely unfair and unethical especially when no credit is given back to StickgirlProductions or me. I think Wei Theng did a wonderful job at balancing out the piece - making it impossible to steal without credit and yet still pretty enough to be sent to friends and family :)

If you're interested in purchasing the piece without watermark for whatever purpose, do drop me an email at

Father's Day 2014

Hi! Wow! It's been a while >.< Sorry for the quietness on the blog. It's been a pretty busy and life-changing few weeks over here.

Been so busy that I actually forgot to post up something I made specially for Father's Day. No, I didn't forget about Father's Day. I celebrated with dad over a nice hearty buffet at Jagoya with the rest of the family. Also celebrated with the hubby's father over dinner.

I did create a design for Father's Day this year and I drew most of my inspiration from childhood memories of my sister and I. We always crawled over dad and hung by his arms and legs. It was lots of fun because dad was this big sturdy man who could handle our weight.

Also since Mom was Supermom it was only natural that Dad was also Superdad. So he too gets a cape =P

I had some feedback and some said they missed my simpler art days so I decided to tone down on the high-techy stuff for this art and make it more simpler with less shading and toning :) I hear you!

StickgirlProductions: Father's Day 2014

-StickgirlProductions: Progress shot

Just want to say thanks to dad for all he's done for the family and being a great provider. Wouldn't be where we are today if it wasn't for his hard work, dedication and passion for the family. While we have had our differences, today we're in a better stronger place and I'm so glad for everything. It's been a journey and I appreciate everything he's done for us and now that I'm older, I understand that it is definitely not easy to be a parent and I know he has tried his best and hardest to do what's right for us. Thanks Dad.

Also not forgetting the Father-in-love who have welcomed me into the family and done a fine job in raising a strong, independent and capable son. Thank You for your love and care.

It may be about a month late, but fathers should be appreciated all day every day.

Maleficent & Aurora

Update: 22/7/2014

If interested for commercial use please email me at

StickgirlProductions2014 : Maleficent & Aurora
Can't wait to catch Maleficient in theaters :)

There's a lot wrong with this piece that I can't seem to get right :( Like the shading and the way her arm looks like a rag doll :( After the Mother's Day design I've been too hard on myself and with my art- but after that amazing piece, it's hard not to be!

BUT anyway, in the sake of being real with you- I'm still posting this up because it shows that there are good days and bad days and clearly last week wasn't a too good day. What I do like- the background. That turned out awesome.

This piece will not be for sale because I'm not 100% happy with it- I might consider reattempting this piece again in a later date but for now, I'm just not feeling it. But if you're like some of the "not so honest" (jokes!) people who thinks this is great- I'm including a download link below :)

I hope this week is a better one for me and for you too.

Love, Ally

We = Love

StickgirlProductions2014 : We = Love

When two souls fall in love, there is nothing else but the yearning to be close too the other. The presence that is felt through a hand held, a voice heard, or a smile seen.
Quote by Lang Leav

This illustration We = Love is inspired  by the above quote. Two hearts that makes one.

We = Love is a digital illustration that took 4 days to complete. I learnt not to rush the art process and to strive for perfection even if it takes longer.

I'm pushing myself to come out with at least one print a week on top of any commissions or freelance jobs that I have. This makes good for practice, building my portfolio, blog updates and to challenge my creativity and skill. If you have any ideas or suggestions of what my next print should be -shout off below at the comment section!

Also if you have already subscribed to my Facebook page (if you haven't you SHOULD for updates, promos and so on!), you would have noticed the update through RedBubble and if you clicked on it, you would have noticed that the link is to be my new e-shop :) YES! It's coming! And you'll be able to get this We = Love print and many other StickgirlProductions prints and merchandise pretty soon.

The best part is that it ships worldwide so no matter which part of the world you're at- you will still be able to purchase a piece of StickgirlProductions and in the process bring me one step closer to fulfilling my dreams! All prices will be in USD since I'm aiming to sell it worldwide :)

Now is just the teaser! Will update you on the launch of this shop and a few others when it's closer.

Lots of love and stickgirl hugs,

Mother's Day 2014

I'm so excited to share with you this piece. I was on a short hiatus (will blog about that later) and for my first piece back after 1 month of not drawing- I dedicate this piece to moms who are supermoms deep inside :)

I took 2 days to complete this piece, most of which was done in the air on my 14 hour flight back to  Kuala Lumpur. Time well spent! This piece was made digitally and I used new colouring techniques as well as a new paintbrush set. The result is a piece that looks like a comic / animation and the perfect vibe for what I was going for. Tribute to all the Marvel comics / movies I have been using as inspiration.

Taking this beautiful Sunday to wish all mommies a Happy Mother's Day :) To the beautiful women who put families above everything else, who teach, nurture, care and give with such selflessness, love, patience and tenderness. Who put their hearts on their sleeves when it comes to their children and who raise up the next generation with hope and vision.

In honor of my mother who left me with so many memories, plenty wisdom and infinite love. I wouldn't be the person I am without her, I wouldn't be a good wife and a good mommycat without the foundation she built in me. And to my other mom and all the other role model mommies in my life- thank you for caring for my well being, for speaking in me life and for your love.

Happy Mother's Day ❤️

Love, Ally of StickgirlProductions.

Yong Ling & Shee Laine

StickgirlProductions: Yong Ling & Shee Laine
I'm back and in the next few weeks, leading up to the official launch, I will be talking about some of my previous work right up to the last piece I did before I took the break to prepare for the launch.

First up is the project I worked on for Yong Ling & Shee Laine's wedding.

Yong Ling & Shee Laine, two friends who are both very dear to me and close to my heart. The both of them are the very two people who brought the hubbycat and I together (they are pretty sneaky... and awesome that way *grins*) and together they have been one of those couples we look up to for their strong relationship, their maturity, the way they both show how truly beautiful and wonderful being in love is.

They had asked me to help them illustrate the "title" pieces which were to be included in one of the feature videos shown during their wedding dinner. The video would show their growing up years from their infant years, finding each other and till their "I DOs".

So without anymore delays, here are the pieces I illustrated for one of my favourite couples in the world.

Stage One: Childhood

StickgirlProductions: Baby Yong Ling

StickgirlProductions: Baby Shee Laine

StickgirlProductions: Childhood Hobbies, Activities & Past Times (Yong Ling)

StickgirlProductions: Childhood Hobbies, Activities & Past Times (Shee Laine)

StickgirlProductions: "We Met" The dating years

StickgirlProductions: "Will You Marry Me?" Yong Ling & Shee Laine
Yong Ling & Shee Laine, Thank You. From the bottom of my heart. Your support, friendship and love have been a blessing and have enriched our lives tremendously. Lastly, Thank You for supporting StickgirlProductions. For letting me tell your stories through my illustrations.
Love, Ally

Mid-Week Inspiration 2

Sorry for being a day over-due! My auto-publish had a date mix up!

This week's inspiration for me was:

1. Lulu Draws (Art by Laura Price)

Can you say CUTE!! Laura (Lulu) is such a talented artist and it's obvious when you browse through her portfolio. I love how her sketches comes to life with colour (but even on its own her line work is amazing!) and I'm so inspired by how her creativity translates into pictures- just check out her landscape illustrations! Gorgeous.

I also love how her sketches have such a nice animation feel to them- something I'm still working on! Right now I'm happy with how my illustrations look like something you find in magazines and story books, but hey, who knows one day I might want to venture into animation! When that time comes, I hope my illustrations look half as good as Laura's (lulu's)!

Hop over and come out feeling warm and fuzzy especially if you're a doggie lover :)

2. Meghan Stratman

Paper meets art! Meghan's pieces are bold, attractive, bright and unique. Her pieces are really eye-catching and detailed that it's crazy to think how many hours must have gone into creating those pieces! Hours well spent I say because it's these pieces that really speaks volumes of Meghan's talents (and steady hands!).

I also love how layering paper creates dimensions and makes the art jump out of paper! Very amazing and another artist who definitely shows you how versatile paper can be :)

Who knew doughnuts with it being round and "holey" could make such cute canvases for the most cutest animals. My favourite, no surprises, is the cat. Followed by Kero-chan.

You must probably be thinking how is this inspirational??!!! Well, if you're in the service industry you SHOULD read this AND then thank your lucky stars you don't have clients like these.... and if you do, here's the perfect avenue to rant... but don't say I said it okay *grins*

This site makes me so thankful that I have amazing clients who are probably the easiest of people to work for and with! I cannot thank my lucky stars enough to be able to cross paths with each of you <3 And for the times I did have the occassional one or two unreasonable clients.... I just remind myself that I get to draw and I love drawing.. so I've already won!

5. Suitcase Bedside Tables

1. Globally Gorgeous 2. Design Tabloid 3. Decoratingmummma
I have a craze for suitcases lately and I want them in my new home!! So vintage, so chiq, so eclectic! Love!

There you go!
Be inspired!

Love, Ally

A New Place!

StickgirlProductions will be on a two-week hiatus starting from tomorrow. We're on a new exciting adventure! Our new place/studio is now liveable and we've been in elbows and knees trying to get ready for it! Probably by now, the one that is the most stressed out is MontyCat as the boxes, the mess and the cat cage probably only brings back not-so-nice memories of plane rides, quarantine and doctors, if only he knows it's NONE of that this time round. Cats (grins*).

We'll be back Mid-March and with some good news as well :) Just a short thank you to YOU who have supported StickgirlProductions in its Chinese New Year & Valentine's Day "Draw My Love" sales :) It is such a thrilling adventure, and I look forward to bringing you more StickgirlProductions goodies!

See you in Mid-March!

If you have any enquiries / commissions / purchases feel free to contact me at :)

Love you lots,

Mid-Week Inspiration 1

Welcome to my new series that has been on my mind... since I stumbled on some very very very creative/artsy/eye-opening/touching/inspiring artists, articles, gifts, work of creativity. fashion, ideas and well everything that just made me go "WOW!!" on the web! Let's just say, the little star on the right has been very very well used.

Every Wednesday, I'll be sharing at least 5 of my favourites for the week. I chose Wednesday because it's when I feel at my lowest. Usually drained, tired, mentally and creatively exhausted and in need for some TLC, pick-me up and a little inspiration. And if it's the same for you too, I hope some of these amazing sites, people, articles etc. will be the pick me up you need.

"Be a WARRIOR! Not a worrier"

Helen Friel
1. Paper Engineer & Illustrator Helen Friel

Gives so much more meaning to paper! Besides her beautifully and skillfully crafted paper sculptures and models, she does an awesome job as an illustrator & graphic designer as well. Her site is a treasure chest of pretty!

Make sure you check her blog & watch the Revolution video :)

Carl Warner

2. "FoodScapes" by Carl Warner

Who knew food would make good materials as well? Carl Warner sure didn't listen to the old rule "Don't play with your food!" and it's a good thing too!  Thankfully he didn't because boy did he make art! With food, superglue, a camera and a good eye he manages to make beautifully detailed sceneries! Each piece will leave you breathless as you take in the colours, the editing, the views and definitely the idea that it's created with just food!

Make sure you check out his other pieces of work as well on his site :)

The Real Flinstone's House

3. A real life Flintstone's House

Now YOU can live like the childhood favourite stone-age family, the Flintstones. Provided you have just about $3.25million to spend. Exorbitant pricing aside, this house is an architectural masterpiece and the details in the interiors are not to be missed as well! Very cool!

4. Transforming 2D into 3D

With just a few very strategically placed white lines, you can make your 2D videos look 3D! Check out this website and view for yourself! If you have the time, maybe you'd like to try it on some of your own home videos ;)

Rebel Wisdom

5. Rebel Wisdom

This one is definitely my kind of inspiration because it speaks to my soul and it appeals the rebel inside me. The very cute vintage typography and style makes these very visually appealing as well as breaks the stereotype that "rebels" are all emo kids who hide in their dungeons at home.

Hopefully, it inspires you to "break some rules" and try something you've never tried before :)

There you go! This week's favourites :) What are yours? Share your link with me at the comment box below! 2 more days to the weekend!

If you haven't liked my FB page, maybe you'd like to check it out :)

Draw My Love : Valentines Day

StickgirlProductions: Happy Valentine's Day!
Don't know about you but I can definitely tell that love is in the air as  friends are getting together or engaged! BUT, I think that whether you are Single or Attached, I can safely say- love is something worth celebrating. As long as there is one person in the world who loves you, even if it's just your fat lazy cat at home, you're blessed (but in all seriousness, if a cat loves you you're MORE than blessed cause cats don't love easily).

In the season of love, I want to do something different with StickgirlProductions. At first I thought of doing personal commissions for 3 couples, but I changed my mind. Instead let me tell you about the "Draw My Love" promo.

"Draw My Love"
A Digital Age Kind Of Love
7 Feb 2014 - 14 Feb 2014

I will draw you and your boyfriend/fiance/husband, girlfriend/fiancee/wife, furrbaby, bestfriend, sister, brother, mother, father etc. (maximum of 4 subjects) based on a picture/story you show/tell me.

I will not be drawing customised backgrounds.
For this project, you two choices of stock background:
A Heart Background
Solid Colour Background (Colour of your choice)

You can add your names, favourite quote (if can fit)

StickgirlProductions: DrawMyLove2014

Here's a sample I did - Heart background, couple kissing in winter and the hubbycat & my name.
Note: Actual picture will not have #drawmylove2014

This is not a print.
I am only going to do the illustration and email you the hi-resolution digital file of your design.
The reason why I am not doing a print is because I feel that you can do so much more with digital media. Also, with digital you can share it with your love ones via email or whatsapp.
This is perfect for those who have family overseas or for couples in long distance relationships.

BUT! If you would like to have the design on print, you can then take the file to any printer or even print it at home using your own photo/laser/cartridge printer. It prints nicely in A4 size.

If you would like me to do the printing for you, let me know and I'll give you a quote.
But do note that I won't be able to sent the print before Valentine's Day.

Cost (Digital File)

2 subjects: RM50
3 subjects: RM65
4 subjects: RM75

I will email you the digital file 2 days after receiving payment.

To place an order, email me at and I will get back to you within 24-48 hours. In your email- do attach a picture/story of what you would like in the illustration.

Chinese New Year Commissions

Been a very busy week completing orders.
This year I had a fair few commissions requesting me to design illustrations to be used as Digital Greeting Cards sent over email.
I'm guessing this is the new trend- paperless greeting cards.
I'm not complaining as I'm all for preserving Mother Earth, but I do feel a bit sad that snail mail is phasing out because I do love receiving mail the old fashion way.
Anyhow, trend or not, an order is an order and I will deliver.
Here are some of the commissions I had the opportunity to create an completed for Chinese New Year 2013.

StickgirlProduction: Chinese New Year Digital Illustration (Commission)
StickgirlProductions: Chinese New Year Digital Illustration (Commission)

StickgirlProductions 2014: Year of The Horse
There is a few more but I can't publish those yet because I've yet to deliver them to their owners. Can't spoil  the surprise for them.

Other news: I will be releasing a free download in TWO days. So if you're interested, come back then :)

All the Chinese New Year greeting cards orders have been posted out so if you placed an order in before Thursday, you should have received them already! So blessed by the response and feedback. I'm glad that it turned out well and I'm so impressed with the printing done by my printer :)

Hello! Firstly, THANK YOU dearest customers for the overwhelming response and for making our first sale such an amazing one. At least thats how I felt when I received all your orders! God bless each of you!

This quote is also still one of my favourites :)

Now on to my second business- I have heard you and I have your answer! This is for those of you who have been writing in to tell me to create the same design without the children! First 2014 Illustration

Showing the raw illustration because I'm so excited to share the first piece for 2014 with you guys! I call this illustration "Family Bed" based on a childhood memory of my sister asking my dad to buy a family bed so that the four of us can sleep together instead of having to sleep on separate beds because we couldn't fit in the same bed anymore.

These days our bed is shared with our little cat-son, and I'm sure ours isn't the only cat-family that does this.

This print will be available in the NEW StickgirlProductions shop in the next few weeks! I will keep you updated! I am super excited for the launch and cannot wait to share it with you :)

Love you guys lots!

2013 heading into 2014

StickgirlProductions: 2014- A New Adventure Awaits

Just a matter of days before StickgirlProductions is up and running again :) 1 month flew and there are still heaps of things to do in regards to StickgirlProductions >.< Good thing is that paper work is in order and I'm just being nit-picky when it comes to all the finer details. Better be safe than sorry is what my mumma use to tell me and now that this is MY baby, I couldn't agree more.

Just tied up all the business side of things and just sent out my last order for 2013 just in time to enjoy the New Year. Before I get started on the next phase of StickgirlProductions, Phase II, I just wanted to take some web space and your time to send my love, appreciation and thanks.

Firstly, I'd like to thank the friends both in real life and online who have been ever so supportive and made the effort to click that "LIKE" button and to follow this blog (there's so many of you that if I were to name you, it would go on forever. You and I know who you are- thank you so much from my whole heart to yours.) You have no idea how enormous that small gesture is to me and my online business. So blessed by the encouragements you shower on me, the support you've shown me by allowing me to contribute to your projects and for recommending me, the love for me and my little family, the ideas and suggestions that have helped me improve and the prayers, the kindness and the enthusiasm when I discuss my new pieces, new adventures, new projects with you.

For the fans, the customers, the readers for your likes and follows and especially those who took the risk and solicited and bought artwork from this small-time artist. Thank you! I am so thankful, honored and blessed by the support. Especially to returning customers who have many great things to say and the stories on how StickgirlProductions have brought joy to you.

Malaysians who support local artists even when I was running things in Adelaide! I was truly overwhelmed by how in the beginning almost 75% of sales were from Malaysia! It meant so much to  me and it brought tears to my eyes to be accepted in my home country. Especially the blogshops and organisers who have asked for collaborations and whom I've had the wonderful privilege of collaborating with. May you and your businesses blossom and grow multi-folds as well.

Wei Theng & Kenneth for being such a patient teachers and answering all my Photoshop, Illustrator, printing, and merchandise questions even when it's 11pm at night. For being so kind and generous with your knowledge and for helping me your valuable insights, suggestions and tips.

I'd like to thank God for  leading me down this path. For opening doors and for the opportunities. To be able to do something that makes me happy, to be able to do good and to bring joy to others. For the achievements, the results, the recognition given to StickgirlProductions. None of this would be possible without your divine hand, your plan, and your  favour and blessings. Truly God deserves all the glory.

Last but certainly not least, my amazing and supportive husband and family. Thank you for giving me the freedom to do something risky, for your support and prayers, for allowing me to be me and for not giving up on my dream. Hubbycat, thank you for taking care of me, staying up with me during the times I was rushing deadlines, for helping me with the business side of StickgirlProductions, for cooking when I'm elbow deep in paperwork and drawing and for being patient with me when I snap and speaking life back into me.

It's been a wonderful year, full of memories and milestones. Thank you. You've helped me grow as a person and StickgirlProductions grow as a company. I am so blessed and thankful for each of you.  May you and your families have a blessed 2014 ahead and I look forward to doing the year with you!

Lots of Love,
Ally @ StickgirlProductions

Goodbye 2013, HELLO 2014.
